What is judo and what will I learn?

Judo is a martial art focused on throwing and grappling techniques. In this seminar, you'll learn fundamental throws, falling techniques, and basic principles of judo that form the foundation for safe and effective practice.

Do I need prior experience to attend?

No prior experience is necessary! This seminar is designed for complete beginners and those new to judo. Our instructors will teach everything from the ground up.

What should I wear to the seminar?

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows you to move freely. A judo uniform (gi) is not required for this introductory seminar. If you don't have a gi, regular athletic clothes work perfectly.

Is this seminar suitable for beginners?

Absolutely! This free seminar is specifically designed for beginners and anyone curious about judo. No prior martial arts experience is needed.

How long is the seminar?

The seminar is 2 hours long, running from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. This gives plenty of time for instruction, practice, and questions.

Do I need to bring anything?

No, just bring yourself! We have everything you need. However, bringing a water bottle is recommended to stay hydrated during the practice.

How much does the seminar cost?

The seminar is completely free! This is part of our launch campaign, and we want everyone to experience judo and get to know our instructors.

How do I register or sign up?

Simply fill out the registration form on this page with your name and email. We'll send you a confirmation with all the details you need.

Is there a deadline to register?

We recommend registering as soon as possible to secure your spot, but we'll accept registrations until the day of the seminar.

Can I bring a friend or family member?

Yes! We'd love to have your friends and family join us. Just download the flyer and share it with them, or have them register on this page.

Is there a refund policy?

Since the seminar is free, there's no charge to participate. If you register but can't make it, just let us know so we can plan accordingly.

What if I don't have a gi (judo uniform)?

No problem! A gi is not required for this introductory seminar. Wear comfortable athletic clothing that allows you to move freely.

Is there an age limit?

We welcome participants of various ages. We typically don't accept below age 10, however, depending on development and size, accomodations may be made. If you have specific concerns about age or physical abilities, please contact us and we can discuss accommodations.

Are there any physical limitations that would prevent me from participating?

Judo can be adapted for most fitness levels. If you have specific physical limitations or health concerns, please contact us before the seminar so we can discuss modifications or accommodations.

Will there be modifications for different fitness levels?

Yes! Our experienced instructors understand that participants have different fitness levels and abilities. We'll provide modifications so everyone can participate safely and enjoyably.

Will certified instructors be teaching?

Yes! Several judo blackbelts will be in attendance to teach and guide you through the seminar.

What safety measures are in place?

Safety is our top priority. We teach proper falling and landing techniques first, demonstrate all throws with control, and ensure the learning environment is supervised and secure.

What if I get injured?

While our focus on proper technique minimizes injury risk, we're prepared with first aid supplies on-site. If you have a serious concern during the seminar, our instructors are trained to respond appropriately.

Absolutely! Before learning any throws, we teach proper falling and landing techniques. This foundational skill is essential for safe judo practice.

Will there be ongoing classes offered?

Yes! This seminar is part of our launch campaign, and we'll be offering regular judo classes at our dojo. Details will be shared during the seminar and special signup offers will be available.

How can I continue learning judo after this?

During the seminar, we'll discuss our ongoing classes and training programs. This is a great opportunity to meet our instructors and learn about your options for continuing your judo journey.

Will I receive a certificate?

This is an introductory seminar, so participants won't receive a formal certificate. However, you'll gain valuable foundational knowledge and be ready to join our ongoing classes.

Can I join a club or dojo?

Definitely! After the seminar, you can join our dojo and participate in regular judo training. Special launch offers will be available for new members during the event.
